Castlewellan GAC Notes For 15 February 2015

We start our notes with sad news of the passing of Evelyn Keown. Mother of our former committee member and Life Member Dessie Keown. We pass our deepest sympathy to the entire family circle.

dn_screenA big thank you to all who attended the breakfast/brunch fundraiser in the club on Sunday 15 February. All proceeds are going towards the construction of the fitness suite which is currently under construction beside the stand at St Malachys Park. Much of the labour has been voluntary and the facility will be a fantastic addition for all our players in all codes. Special thanks to Mario who did the cooking and our senior footballers for serving and providing the hospitality writes Brian Cunningham.

lake challengeThe winter fun coaching programme will commence in St Malachys HS on Wednesday  25 February and will run fior 5 weeks. Nursery to P4 will be from 6-7pm and P5- P7 plus any 1st years U-12 will be from 7-8pm. The cost of the course will be £5 per child. The Club is proud to announce that “Mario will be back” Starting on the first Sunday in March we will providing Sunday Lunches in the Club Lounge. Come & watch the Ireland v England Rugby match and enjoy your lunch.

The online membership is now live. We would encourage all members to avail of the facility ASAP. See club website for details.


Commiserations to our club members who were defeated in their All Ireland Semi Finals with St Malachy’s High School & Assumption Grammar School. Great effort by all & hopefully better days ahead.

Our club lotto is over £8K. The easiest way to play is on-line, from your living room, from work or where ever. Encourage others to play our lotto and by doing so your are supporting our development
