Following on from the very successful “Castlewellan Come Dancing” before Christmas, we are happy to announce that there are Jive Dance Classes now taking place every Wednesday Night in the Club from 7.30pm. The cost is £5.00 per person per night. This is a great night’s fun for everyone. The feedback from last week was very positive and certainly very enjoyable for those there the first night. On Saturday 16 February 2013 Castlewellan GAC will host the Marie Jones play “A Night in November”. This much acclaimed play has been performed all over the world. The play is aboutxa0Kenxa0McCallister, a dole clerk who goes toxa0the 1994 World Cup Qualifier on a night in November in Belfast as the Republic of Ireland plays Northern Ireland. Tickets are on sale from the Club at £10 each. It is anticipated that tickets will sell very quickly as this play has sold out virtually everywhere it has been shown. Can you please ensure you purchase your ticket early to avoid disappointment. A reminder thatxa0Active8the community based Health and Fitness programme which will take place during Lent for everyone 18-80 of all abilities. The activities will be scheduled at various times to meet the needs of all lifestyles and ensure that there is something for everyone.xa0Activ8xa0will begin on Ash Wednesday 13xa0February, following the last supper of pancakes in the club on the Tuesday prior. Cost to participate in thexa0Activ8Program is £30 for the entire duration of Lent and this may be paid in two installments, for this you can attend as many events as you wish. Club Chairman Rory McCabe has applauded this initiative saying: “There is something for everyone and the orgnaisers have put together a great programme and that I will certainly be taking part in a few of the activities”. An information night will be held in the club prior to this initiative, dates for this will follow. Finally the Club will be donating part of the profits of this to Trócaire, so by supporting your club and Trócaire you can also get healthier and more active. Hurling coaching will continue on Thursday evenings at St Malachy’s Primary School at 6.00pm for all P5, P6 and P7 and Year 8 boys eligible to play U-12 hurling in 2013.
