Castlewellan-based TS Foods – one of Northern Ireland’s leading chilled and frozen food producers – has been shortlisted in this year’s Energia Family Business Awards.

The Energia Family Business Awards showcase the best of Irish family businesses throughout the island of Ireland, as well as examining their impact on their local and wider community.

Each category recognises the outstanding achievements of family owned businesses throughout all sectors and industries.

Still operating at their original premises in Castlewellan, County Down, the company employs over 100 people across the business, providing ROI, NI and UK customers with iconic brands including TS Foods Stuffings, Tony’s Chippy, Ann’s Kitchen and their newest offering, TS Foods Chicken.

The award category for which TS Foods has been nominated is the Food & Drink Family Business Category, which recognises the consistency and quality of produce, as well as the achievements of the businesses in this sector.

The judging panel at Energia Family Business Awards comprises of influential industry experts who utilise a comprehensive, points-based scoring system dictated by the criteria for each particular category.

Speaking about the awards, Joanne Molloy, Managing Director of TS Foods, daughter of founder Tony and Anne Steele, said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted in these prestigious awards, particularly as they reflect the efforts and activities of businesses such as ours during one of the most challenging times in living memory.
