Castlewellan Club Notes For Sunday 17 May 2015

The U-12 camogs travelled to Ballycran on Saturday past, with the girls playing some great camogie, including some excellent individual performances. Unfortunately though, Ballycran proved to be to strong.. Home to Drumaness this week, time TBC…training is on Thursday at  6.15pm writes Brian Cunningham.

dn_screenSunday saw the U-16 girls make the journey to Saval on a blustery morning. Castlewellan started strongly scoring 5 points in quick succession. Saval were fortunate to score a goal as the Town keeper thought it was going wide. However, this did not deter the girls who continued to press the Saval back line with quick passing skills and accurate kicking. When the Castlewellan defence was tested they held strong and calm, working the ball out to midfield and on to the forwards, knowing the wind was against them. The game finished up Saval 1-4 to 5-20 Castlewellan. This was a display of pure class, great team work and skill from a group of girls who have been working really hard, proving it pays off!! Next game is in mid-June, good luck to all doing exams.
