Kingdom Healthcare holds its first Excellence in Domiciliary Care Awards recognising local carers

Downpatrick-based company Kingdom Healthcare, a leading provider of domiciliary care services in Northern Ireland, has just held its inaugural Kingdom Healthcare Service Excellence in Domiciliary Care Awards.

The first of three regional award ceremonies took place on the 27th of September in The Millbrook Lodge Hotel, in Ballynahinch.

The awards recognise and reward service excellence from its Domiciliary Care Assistants operating in the South Eastern division.

This division serves Downpatrick, Ballynahinch, Crossgar, and Saintfield. Within this community, Kingdom Healthcare extends its invaluable services to over 120 service users, making a significant impact on their lives.

Speaking about the decision to create the awards, General Manager, Niamh Conaty commented: “At Kingdom Healthcare, we firmly believe that our strength lies in our people.

“And these awards have been established to recognise and honour the outstanding efforts of our incredible team members in upholding the highest standards of service and care.

“The awards give us the platform and opportunity to express our gratitude for the contribution that each and every team member makes to Kingdom Healthcare and to the lives of our service users.”

The ceremony saw five awards and a number of highly commended accolades distributed across five different categories.

The first award out of the five categories was The Compassionate Caregiver Award.

This award recognises a caregiver who has shown exceptional compassion, empathy, and dedication in providing homecare services and was won by Cathy Sharvin from Killyleagh.

Eirinn Hayes, Joyce Bell and Sinead Wilson were all recognised as highly commended.

The Excellence in Complex Care Award which was presented to Oonagh Pollock, of Ballynahinch, and Clement Hanna, from Crossgar, for excelling in managing and coordinating care for patients with complex medical conditions.

The highly commended recipients for this award were Heather Patterson, Heather Ward, Margaret Clendenning, Hannah Ashe and Caitlin Rooney.

Downpatrick native, Angela Boyd received The Homecare Hero Award in recognition of her unwavering dedication, exceptional caregiving skills, and profound compassion.

Ellie Barlow, Michelle Russell and Donna Mageean were all acclaimed as highly commended.

The winner of the Outstanding Patient Support Award was Ballynahinch man, Anthony Flanaghan in acknowledgement of his exceptional support to patients and their families.

Ashleigh Hall, Paula McCoubrey and Jennifer Wade all being highly commended in the category.

The final award was the Lifetime Achievement in Homecare Award, which was presented to Ann-Marie Quinn from Downpatrick.

This award honours Ann-Marie with having a long and distinguished career in the homecare industry, making a significant contribution to the lives of services users with Kingdom Healthcare.

The Highly commended carers in this category were, Angela Boyd, Shan Barlow and Jennifer Wade.
