Cannabis Seized In Newcastle

dn_screenPolice in Newcastle have recovered a number of cannabis plants in the Dunwellan Park area of the town.

The plants were seized during a planned search of a flat in the area on Friday 5 September.

Sergeant Jim McIlveen explained: “Drugs are an issue of concern to the local community and officers have been working closely with residents in this area to tackle the issue of drug supply and distribution. This planned search illustrates our commitment to deal with drugs in this area.

“I would appeal to anyone who has any information in relation to illegal drugs, to contact local police on the non-emergency number 101 or, alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
