Downpatrick Sinn Féin Councillor Philip Campbell calls for movement of developing a multi sports hub in Downpatrick
The Multi Sports Hub must be progressed as a top priority for Downpatrick says Sinn Féin Downpatrick Councillor Philip Campbell.
The Downpatrick councillor has called on Newry Mourne and Down District Council to prioritise the delivery of the Multi Sports Hub for Downpatrick.
He said: “The delivery of the Multi Sports Hub is long overdue, and it will be a very welcome development given the wide variety of sporting clubs and organisations in the area.
“The resurgence of sports such as tennis and netball, as well as the success of local clubs such as EDAC and Down Tri Club has underscored the need for an accessible, inclusive, and multifunctional space that supports the development and wellbeing of all of our children and young people.
“Sinn Féin have been calling for improved facilities in the Downpatrick area due to the large number of young people being forced to travel in order to access basic amenities.
“I will continue to work with the Council to ensure the delivery of a Multi Sports Hub that is inclusive and accessible to all in our community.”xa0
