Cllr Bailie said:xa0“I have been contacted by residents living in the Knocknashina area who are concerned by a spate of crime recently recorded in the area, including incidents where homes have been burgled and numerous reports of oil theft. “It is imperative that our local policing teams are actively pursuing criminals involved in these types of crime, but engagement with local people and through Neighbourhood Watch groups will undoubtedly assist in making our community a safer one to live in, work in and visit.” Ms Bailie added:xa0“I have requested that the local community safety team pursue this matter through the Policing and Community Safety Partnership and I would encourage anyone willing to play an active role in the delivery or development of such a group, to contact Down Council Community Safety Team.”
