The Senior team had a very poor start to this year’s Championship on Friday night, being deservedly beaten by Clonduff on a score line of 1-12 to 1-6. It is hoped that the performance level can be lifted significantly for the next round. Next game is against Rostrevor at home in the league on Friday night. Throw-in is at 7pm.
Further results this week: the U-12 boys had a fantastic win over St. John’s on Sunday, winning by 12-8 to 4-8. This was a great display by the lads. The U-14 boys also finished off their league campaign in style, beating Drumaness by 7-17 to 6-4 to remain undefeated this year. Congratulations to all involved with the team, whose attention will now turn to the Championship.
Fixtures for the week ahead; the U-14 boys are at home to St. Paul’s in the Championship on Wednesday evening at 7:30pm, the U-16 boys are at home to Liatroim in the Championship on Thursday evening at 7pm, the Senior Ladies are away to Castlewellan in the Championship on Saturday with the time yet to be confirmed, the U-16 girls are away to Burren on Sunday afternoon at 12:30pm and the Seconds are at home to Clann na Banna in the Championship on Sunday evening at 6:30pm.
The Senior team will be holding a training camp this Saturday for age groups ranging from U-6 to U-14. Training for U-6s will be from 10am to 12pm and from 10am to 1pm for all other age groups. Registration will be from 9:45am and the cost is £5 per child. Each child should bring a light lunch.
Please note that there will be a ‘Night With the Stars’ this coming Saturday evening in the club house in aid of Daisy Lodge. Doors will open at 7:30pm with the entertainment beginning at 8pm. All welcome.
