Bryansford GAC Notes For 16 August 2015

The Senior team were fortunate to earn a one point victory over a battling Rostrevor team at home last Friday night. Final score was 1-10 to 0-12 with the winning point coming from Chris Clarke near the finish. Attention now turns back to the Championship where a much improved display will be required to get past the challenge of Saval. This game will take place in Burren on Thursday evening at 8pm writes Ronan McVeigh.

dn_screenThere was disappointment for the Senior Ladies on Sunday as they exited the Championship at the hands of near neighbours Castlewellan on a score line of 5-11 to 2-12. Whilst the team will be hurt by this result there has been a great effort all year and there is no doubt they will return stronger next year.

Further results this week; the U-14 boys opened their Championship campaign with an impressive 15-13 to 3-13 victory over St. Paul’s and the U-16 boys battled hard to earn a draw with Liatroim on a score line of 1-12 apiece in their opening Championship game. Well done to both panels.

Fixtures for the week ahead; the Thirds play Drumaness away on Wednesday evening at 6:45pm in the East Down RFL Cup, the U-14 girls are at home to Rostevor on Wednesday evening at 7:30pm, the U-16 girls are away to Teconnaught on Sunday afternoon at 12:30pm, the U-14 boys are at home to Teconnaught in the Championship on Monday evening at 7:15pm and the minors are at home to Burren in the Championship on Tuesday night at 7:15pm.

Many thanks to all the parents and children who attended the coaching session with the Senior team last Saturday. It was great to see so many there enjoying themselves. It is hoped this event can be repeated in the near future.

Numbers this week were 8, 19, 20 and 22. Bonus number was 28. Match three winners were Joanne Kinley and Mary McCrickard. Jackpot now £3,400.
