Bryansford GAC Golf Classic Well Supported

th annual Bryansford GAC golf classic was held on Friday 22nd July at Kilkeel Golf Club. 114 eager golfers and 60 hole and tee sponsors along with beautiful weather made this 4th annual Smyth’s Centra Bryansford GAC Golf Classic another resounding success for the club in what has now become one of the most enjoyable days in the club calendar. [caption id="attachment_26351" align="alignleft" width="400" caption="The winners of the annual Bryansford GAC golf open held at Kilkeel Golf Club: Ronan Sands, Mark Donegan, Barry Laverty and Liam Donnan"][/caption] Played on the magnificent Kilkeel Course in ideal conditions the challengers laid down their intentions from the first tee in a bid to be added to the list of winners from previous years but defending champions Ronan Sands, Mark Donegan, Barry Laverty and Liam Donnan had enough in reserve to hold off the challenge and made it around in 109 points to claim the spoils. Damien Grant, Sean Grant, Mark Trimble and Dave Rooney representing Glasdrumman GAC were runners up with a total of 105 points; Third place was claimed by Paddy Rooney, John Rooney and Gareth Scannell coming home with 99 points. A evening was rounded off with a presentation in Bryansford Club where Ronan McVeigh presented the prizes to the winners and went on to thank his fellow organisers, Peter Kelly, Eamon Morgan, Paul Boden, Noel King, John Toner and Andy Wilson for their efforts and special praise was left for the players and sponsors who without there continued support the Golf Classic would not be able to take place.
