Local Councillors Patrick Brown and Cadogan Enright have called a virtual public meeting to discuss the growing concerns of anti-social behaviour in Downpatrick.

Councillor Patrick Brown said: “There has been a huge increase in anti-social behaviour in Downpatrick in recent months.

Cllr Cadogan Enright (Independent) and Patrick Brown Alliance) have called a virtual public meeting to address anti-social behaviour in Downpatrick following an arson attack on the old Downe Hospital building.

“This behaviour has escalated to serious arson seen earlier this week at the old Downe hospital site in Downpatrick.

“We cannot let this continue and must come together as a community to find solutions.

“Therefore, Cllr Cadogan Enright and myself are hosting a Virtual Public Meeting next Thursday at 7pm to discuss what action we can take.

Cllr Cadogan Enright said: “Relevant local stakeholders affected by the ASB including businesses, community groups, PSNI, Translink, NIHE and others will be invited.

“Everyone will get their chance to speak but to join you must register using the link below before 5pm on Thursday.

“You will then be sent a link by email to join via Zoom. If you cannot attend virtually and would like to raise any concerns on this issue, please message me directly.”
