Bright Notes

Bright Credit Union, who have thoughtfully donated a defibrillator to the Club. This is undoubtedly a hugely kind donation and is appreciated by all at the club. It is a lifesaving piece of equipment that should indeed be available at every club in the country. Good luck to Corey Ranaghan and Conor Black and everyone on the East Down U-14 development squad who are playing North Armagh in Lurgan this Saturday. Festival Week continues this weekend August 26-28th 2011 starting with a quiz night in the SOS Bar, Killough on Friday. It would be great to see a good turnout of members/players at what aims to be a great night’s craic, £10 entry per team of five. Sunday 28th August will begin with a fun run at 1pm (registration at 12.30pm) followed by many activities at Bright Pitches at including Bright U-8’s and U-10’s challenge matches, U-14’s skills competition, (registration at 1.30pm), Skittles, (registration at 1.30pm), Over-45’s challenge match, slow bike race, bouncy castles, Wii Dance for Primary kids, Primary School races and many more activities should prove to be a great family day out. Refreshments and burgers available to purchase throughout the day.  Also Live Music at the Castle Inn, Ballynoe starting at 7pm, admission £2. See Facebook notes for full schedule. Could we ask for donations for the tombola on Sunday– i.e. any food stuff that is canned or bottled, vouchers, unwanted gifts – i.e. perfume/aftershave sets etc. Please give to any of the committee before Saturday please. The club sends out a huge get well soon to Cormac McLaughlin who sustained a broken arm in the U-14 Championship match against Saul last week. It’s deeply saddening to see talented young players getting seriously hurt especially at this young level. Praying for a speedy recovery for you Cormac. We also send out wishes for a speedy recovery for club chairman Marty Ranaghan who is currently recovering from ACL surgery. Many thanks to Noel and Anne-Marie Deegans of the Castle Inn for their hospitality on Saturday night. Thanks to everyone who turned up and donated to such a worthy cause. 200 Club – Marty Tumelty will be at Bright Community centre on Sunday evening at 7pm to collect all monies that are currently due. Please note – can all managers please email me at pro.bright.down@gaa.ie or ring 07763814825 with match reports and any other information relevant to keeping members and players informed of what is going on at the club. This will be greatly appreciated.]]>
