Bright GAC Notes

AN injury-ravaged Bright team went to Dromara and got a well-earned point drawing with the home team 1-07 to 1-07. BJ McMenamin had a great game scoring an impressive 5 points. Conor Doyle scored a grand 1-01 with Matthew Burns scoring the final point for Bright. Philly McGarry, Dee Sharvin and Tommy Fitzsimons defended strongly while Seamas Tumelty, Nicky O’Connor and Conor McAllister worked hard around the middle of the pairc. Training will be held on Thursday night at 7pm at Bright and the next game away to Bredagh is on Friday night. Well done also to the Reserves who had a good win over Teconnaught in Round Two of this year’s East Down League Shield. County Board Development Officer, Francie Toner, has identified refereeing opportunities which members may be interesting in pursuing. A Course has being scheduled for the end of the month of June and is a ‘Grab Your Whistle’ Level 1 Referees Course hosted by Antrim County Board co-ordinated by Ulster Council’ Sheena Kelly and Joe Lagan. This course is open to anyone over 16 years of age, and who is interested in becoming a Ladies Gaelic referee. Participants are welcome from anywhere in Ulster. The course will run on Tues 21st, Thursday 23rd and Thursday 30th June from 7-10pm at St Gall’s clubrooms in Belfast. Participants must attend all 3 sessions. The GAA distributes a monthly club newsletter via email with the intention of informing all clubs about activities and news. This is a very important method of communication which directly targets members with information that specifically relates to all areas of club activity, both on and off the field of play.
