Bright GAC Notes

The Senior team notched up another win this week, this time against Teconnaught. The match was hard fought at times and was won by Bright at the last kick of the game when the home side was awarded a penalty and the ball was shot into the back of the net by B.J McMenamin. Well done everyone.

Cill Breachtain U-16’s had a great win against Loughinisland last Thursday night. The defence was solid with Dan McMullan and Paddy Mageean putting in strong performances. The midfield battle was won with good teamwork by James Hanna and Eoin King and the front line was very powerful with John McLeigh, Conor Kelly and Andy McMenamin. Great all round display by the boys. Final score 3-16 to 3-1.
The U-14’s were winners against Teconnaught. The team were back on form and again with good passing and accurate score taking Bright were once again deserving winners! Jack McLaughlin is a great asset to have up front and this week hammered in three goals to add to a gathering tally of points. Conor Black and Corey Ranaghan are beginning to develop their ability to score points from further out in play and Declan Trainor was particularly impressive in the defensive role. A special mention this week to Cormac McLaughlin and Conor Burke who played a vital role chasing balls down and passing them on to running players! Your determination doesn’t go unnoticed boys… well done! Bright’s Cúl Camp 2011 will take place during the week of 1st – 5th August.
