Concern of Ballykinlar residents must be centre stage says Brennan over CCTV installation

Cllr Jim Brennan who met with the MoD over new CCTV cameras at Ballykinlar army camp.

Slieve Croob Sinn Féin Cllr Jim Brennan says he is committed to putting concerns of residents “centre stage” following a meeting with the British Ministry of Defence over “invasive cameras in Ballykinlar.”

Cllr Brennan said: “For a number of months, I have been working to address the concerns of residents in Ballykinlar who feel exposed in light of a new CCTV system.

“Following direct contact with the British Ministry of Defence on the matter, I have received acknowledgment that no consultation was carried out with residents on the installation of a new CCTV system.

“Giving the severity of concerns, I have secured a meeting with the British Ministry of Defence and want to give residents the opportunity to attend the meeting and have their concerns heard.

“I am determined to address these concerns and find a solution to the issue. People deserve to have privacy and feel safe in their home,“ added Cllr Brennan.
