Brave The Shave Raises Funds In Memory Of Glenn

Sister Shaves Head To Raise Funds For Football Clubs Utd (NI) For Her Late Brother Glenn

Football Clubs Utd (NI) would like to sincerely thank Deborah Stovell,
sister of our former player Glenn McBride, who before his passing was an
integral part of our team and an inspirational young man writes Cyril McKinney.

Deborah and her family and friends arranged a fundraising event called ‘Brave the Shave’ in
memory of Glenn and have donated the proceeds to Football Clubs Utd(NI).

Almost four weeks have passed since Deborah shaved her head for a very
worthy cause for Football Clubs United (NI).

Deborah and her friend Levein Kearney are pictured handing over a cheque
for £2500 to two of our local players in the squad Richie Brown and Noel
Galbraith both from Downpatrick Sports Club. Also pictured are Stephen
Lenaghan (L)Football Clubs Utd Chairman and Cyril McKinney (R) Football
Clubs Utd Treasurer.
We wish to thank Eurospar in Clough for hosting the
event as well as the McBride family and friends for this massive
donation and the amount is greatly appreciated and is testament to the
esteem in which Glenn is held by everyone who knew him.

She wishes to thank peoplexa0for sponsoring her and helping her on the day.

Also a big shout out goes to Eurospar in Clough for hosting the event. So thank you too Levein Kearney for setting everything up for the day.

also a big thank you to Stephanie Strain and Phyllis Meharg for collecting money at the door all day at the Eurospar.

And thank you to all the businesses for donating prizes for the raffle. Also for all the people that turned up to watch the head shave.

And last but not least, thanks to the McBride family for supporting her decision to do the shave.xa0Thanks to her sister Zoe McTeer for shaving her head. I’m sure “OUR GLENN” was
upstairs watching and laughing.

The final total raised is £2500, a fantastic amount for a head shave event.

Thank you all again.
