Ards and North Down Borough Councillor Joe Boyle has been re-elected.

He said: “Whilst I was aware it was my Birthday on Polling day, the event really went over my head as I was that much involved with the election and working with my excellent team.

“I was delighted to receive my best ever vote, within Local Government of 1621 votes, 20% more than in 2014.

“I would pay tribute to my excellent team that assisted me and stood by me during the campaign. I would also pay tribute to my family and wife Sinéad for all their advice and guidance. It is certainly worth listening to all views concerning the organising of an election, and I received very constructive and positive advice.

“I would like to thank all those who took the time to come out and vote for me and assure the people of the Ards Peninsula of a continued further four years of representing everyone with a strong voice to deliver on their needs and required services within Ards and North Down Borough Council,” added Councillor Boyle.
