Bio Fuel Can Stop Climate Change Solution In Its Tracks Says FFA
The Farmers For Action’s NI Steering Committee (FFA) say that the use of bio fuels must be taken up seriously by the UK government as soon as possible.
The FFA says it is time for Westminster to be held to account on the bio fuel cover up standing in the way of the world’s accelerated climate change solution.
The world’s climate change scientists are telling us the time is up and unless we reduce fossil fuel use by 75% immediately humanity is in trouble.
Currently Farmers For Action are doing their best to have a 75% reduction in fossil fuel included in the Climate Action Plan for Northern Ireland, currently taking us up to 2027.
The farmers are planning to have bio-fuel in place by 2035 for all flights in and out of Northern Ireland and all petrol and diesel engines to be running on bio fuel alongside EV’s and other.
For this to happen Westminster will have to come clean about the bio fuel cover up!
William Taylor, FFA chairman, said: “The time has come to change the world order of politicians following the money and listening to the world’s corporate oil giants and the world’s corporate grain, oil seed and sugar traders.
“Instead they have a choice to make. They could set in train immediately bio fuel in aviation and bio fuel in combustion engines to lower the UK’ fossil fuel use by 75% by 2035.
“This is easily do-able as it has already been proven.
“The alterative of current politicians not doing this immediately is that they are putting wealth in front of their children and grandchildrens future and currently at the rate accelerated climate change is increasing probably their own future on this earth.”
The FFA maintains implores the press to excuse the pun ‘set this alight’ for the sake of their children and grandchildren. William Taylor said: “Tomorrow the world’s aviation can run on bio-fuel, ie switch the world’s approx 170million tonnes of human sugar use into aviation fuel, which at a recent estimate was 167million tonnes per annum, and the world’s average temperature could come down by up to 2oC, according to 9/11 and COVID 19 stats and this would not put up the price of food!
“Add to this the reversal of the recent bio fuel plant that had to shut down due for no good reason other than Government greed looking after the world’s corporates and immediately put at least 75% bio fuel into all diesel and petrol engines by 2035.
“This technology is already proven since the late 1990’s and has been witnessed in action by members of Farmers For Action many times.
“However, at bio fuels peak of interest in 2009 the world’s giant grain and oil seed traders could see that they were going to lose their ability to control the price of grain and oil seeds on farms across the world and began telling key Governments around the world not to follow the bio fuel route because it would put up the price of food!
“Governments swalled this up hell bent on keeping the price of food down, when in actual fact, few of them control it at the retail end.
“Instead it is Tesco watching Asda, watching Sainsburys, watching Lidl etc – then for them to go back to the farmer and hammer the farm gate price down to the pits with few exceptions, constantly leaving the corporate food retailers with billions of profit!”
He added: “Farmers across the UK, across these islands, across Europe and across the world are quite capable of producing the food and the fuel, providing they are paid a minimum of the true cost of production inflation linked plus a margin for their produce but Government’s need to be warned this needs to happen now before accelerated climate change makes it impossible.
“In addition, there can be no more trees and solar panels on arable or grassland, indeed, grassland sequesters more Co2 than trees and there is plenty of roofs for solar generation.
“The FFA and other farm organisations intend to continue piling the pressure on Government’s across these islands to hold them to account on the bio fuel issue and let’s get it done and set an example to the world!”
