Belfast Comeback Inspires Win Over Glasgow

The Stena Line Belfast Giants made it two weekend wins out of two with with a 5-4 victory on Saturday over the Glasgow Clan. Next up for the Giants is against the Dundee Stars on Sunday in Belfast.
Trailing 3-0 at 28:17, the Giants staged a memorable comeback to down the Clan in front of over 5,000 fans for an electric atmosphere at The SSE Arena.
Tyler Beskorowany started in the Belfast net with Colin Shields, Guillaume Gelinas, Hunter Bishop, Matt Towe and Andrew Dickson missing for the Giants.

Peacock Breaks Deadlock. Craig Peacock opened the scoring against his former side, slotting backhanded into the Giants net at 8:13, assisted by Guillaume Doucet and Michal Gutwald.
Giants And Clan Post Doubles In Middle Period.  The visitors doubled their lead early in the middle period as Gerard Hanson slotted home from in front of the Belfast goal, assisted by Travis Ehrhardt at 20:36.
At 28:17, it was 3-0 – this time Rasmus Bjerrum extended the Clan lead, assisted by Matt Haywood and Matt Stanisz.
The Giants fightback began at 36:19 as David Rutherford netted from a tight angle into the roof of the Glasgow goal on the powerplay, assisted by Pat Dwyer and Darcy Murphy.
Dustin Johner made it a one goal game at 39:33 with the Giants second powerplay goal of the period, assisted by Josh Roach and Jonathan Ferland.
Giants Comeback To Down Clan. David Rutherford fired home the equaliser, unassisted, on the powerplay at 46:59.
Dustin Johner grabbed his second of the night at 47:32 to edge the hosts in front, assisted by Kevin Raine.
Darcy Murphy gave Belfast a two goal lead with an impressive powerplay finish at 56:25, assisted by David Rutherford and Blair Riley.
Michal Gutwald pulled a late consolation goal back for the Clan at 59:26, assisted by Scott Pitt and Vaclav Stupka.
