Bee Sting Takes Place at Delamont

POLICE in Downpatrick are appealing for information following the theft of four beehives (complete with their bees) from the Delamont Country Park.

Sometime between Monday 15 October and Saturday 20 October the four colonies of bees were taken from the park. Members of the local bee-keepers association at the park say the hives are valued at around £500 in total.  But their prime concern is the welfare of the bees.

Anyone with information about the theft or who noticed any unusual activity at the Park is asked to contact police at Downpatrick on 0845 600 8000.

Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
