Local groups in Bangor area present two cheques to Bangor RNLI
Bangor RNLI receives £1,500 donation from Ballyholme Beach Football Club
A donation of £1,500 has been welcomed by Bangor RNLI following a raffle and auction at a local football clubs 60th Anniversary dinner.

The Ballyholme Beach footballers were unofficially formed in 1965 by a group of friends and local rugby players that wanted to train on the sands of Ballyholme beach in the off season. The team has been a sight on the beach since then and draws quite a crowd of spectators.
Sir Patrick recognised that both the BBFC and Bangor RNLI both were celebrating their 60th Anniversaries this year and both groups were an integral part of their local community.
Glen McMahon, Bangor RNLI crew member, said: ‘The RNLI is reliant on voluntary donations fro groups such as the Ballyholme Bay Footballers. That’s why donations such as this are so welcome. We appreciate this kind contribution, which will be put to great use in saving lives at sea.’
Rotary Club raise £1000 for Bangor RNLI following their charity breakfast
Bangor RNLI was delighted to receive a £1000 donation from the President of the Rotary Club following their successful charity breakfast.
Mike McNeice, President of the club presented RNLI Volunteers Station Visits Officers John Montgomery and John Magowan with the funds which were the proceeds of a collection at their annual charity breakfast in Bangor Golf Club.

Mike McNeice said: ‘It is fantastic to visit Bangor lifeboat boathouse this morning and see Bangor stations new lifeboat ‘Ruby Robinson’. We appreciate all the valiant work undertaken by all the volunteers here at Bangor RNLI both afloat and ashore and it is our pleasure to present Bangor station with a cheque for £1000 this morning.
John Magowan, Bangor RNLI Visits Officer said: ‘Once again we are extremely grateful for this very generous donation from the Rotary Club of North Down.
“It was great to see the Rotarians back at our station and we are humbled by their continued support. These funds will power our lifesaving work and help our volunteers to continue to save lives at sea.’
