Ballyvange Ladies Go Through The Mill In First Game

NIWFA Division 4. Ballyvange Ladies  3  Moneyslane Ladies  3 THE boots were on the right feet as the Ballyvange ladies got stuck into their first league game of the season against a tough Ballyvange opposition. With just a a short space into the game the Ballyvange keeper was given a penalty against her for an overenthusiastic tackle and Stephenie Connor slotted it comforably away fro teh visitors to give them the lead. [caption id="attachment_22998" align="alignleft" width="400" caption="Lisa Kempster on a run at the Moneyslane goal."][/caption] But fighting back, Ballyvange shortly took a great goal from 15 yards out by Lisa Dempster who was hungry from the whistle to get her name on the scoreboard. Before half time Moneyslane struck again after a long spell of putting Ballyvange under pressure. Naomi Aris received a ball from across the box, turned sharly and took a clinical goal giving Teresa Harris no chance of saving it. As the second half unfolded, Ardis went off the pitch after experiencing a nasty knee injury. But undeterred, Moneyslane  struck again when Louis eMcGuigan sent in a great ball to the Ballyvange box and Ashleen Dinsmore struck it home. But a credit to the Ballyvange ladies who did not let their heads go down as the jaws of defeat wer eready to swallow them uop on their opener for the season. Toward the end of the second hald, Lisa Dempter received a spot perfect cross from Mary McGrady and left footed a low hard shot to the back post beating the Moneyslane keeper. The shot taken by Mary McGrady cleare dthrough the throng of players jostling in the box and hit teh back o fthe net to give Ballyvange a well earned draw after sliding down 3-1. This was a good all round performance by the team and their dedicated twice weekly training sessions ha sshown they are match fit and ready for the season.
