Ballynahinch RFC Round Up For 4 March 2017

Match Reports:

The weather had a huge impact on matches across the board on Saturday with many matches postponed due to waterlogged pitches. Only Carrickfergus (whose pitches were unplayable last week) were able to defy the odds and get the River Rock Towns Cup Quarter Final played at Tom Simms Park in shocking conditions.

Ballynahinch RFC 1st XV had an unplanned rest weekend, as Naas RFC had to postpone the UBL match due to waterlogged pitches.

Ballynahinch 2’s River Rock Towns Cup Quarter Final match against Carrick RFC took place after last weeks match was postponed due to allegedly waterlogged pitches. A strong Hinch 2’s travelled and dispatched the seasiders by 24-7.

Ballynahinch 3’s travelled to Omagh and in ever worsening conditions, managed to hold off the Omagh attack for the majority of the game, only conceding in the dying moments 24-15.

Ballynahinch 4’s played a mid-week fixture under floodlights taking on visitors Dungannon 2s. The Ballymacarn side won the day (night!) in difficult conditions 34-19.

Ballynahinch 5’s were free.

Ballynahinch 6’s – match postponed due to waterlogged pitches

Evergreens were free.

Hitch U-16’s Cup match was postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
