This was a game that came to life in the second half and ended with the honours evenly split writes Cyril McKinney.

The first half was end-to-end action but neither keeper was really tested as both sides largely cancelled each other out.

On the restart both sides went on the offensive, and on 47 minutes Olympic’s Gavin McMullan had to be alert at the back to divert a goal-bound shot for a corner from Larne’s Harrison.

On 56 minutes the home side took the lead through Conor Reid who was on hand to nod home from close range following a free from the right wing.

Larne were not for rolling over and following a sustained period of pressure got on level terms on 65 minutes through forward Lewis Harrison who headed home at the back post from a left wing corner flicked on at the near post.

Larne then took the lead on 70 minutes with a superb header from Mulvenna who got on the end of an inviting right wing cross.

Larne looked to capitalise on their lead but gradually Olympic began to press for the equaliser and were rewarded on 88 minutes when that Reid having a great game bundled home an equaliser to the delight of the home support.

Late on Larne’s Lee Thompson had a chance to seal the victory but was wide of the mark when in a good position.
