Ballynahinch Community Collective Announces Annual General Meeting To Celebrating A Year of Community Action And Growth
The Ballynahinch Community Collective warmly invites all residents, friends, and supporters to attend its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday 28th August at 7pm, in The Market House, Ballynahinch.
This is an opportunity for everyone in the community to hear about the Collective’s achievements over the past year, share ideas for the future, and get involved in shaping the work ahead.

Over the past year, the Ballynahinch Community Collective has proudly:
- Delivered the town’s annual Halloween and Christmas events, with hundreds of townspeople and visitors enjoying the fun. Christmas was particularly notable for the first ever participation of the combined choirs of Ballynahinch and St Patrick’s primary schools, whose carol performance delighted a town square packed with adoring parents
- Hosted successful local events such as the recent People Place Space Project — a series of creative writing workshops organised in conjunction with the Ballynahinch Library, celebrating local stories, the town, and the community’s connection to place.
- Improved local spaces through volunteer clean-up days such as the recent July litter pick that saw Collective volunteers, accompanied by friends from Harry’s Mates and the Ballynahinch Men’s Shed, clear six sacks of rubbish from the town’s Lough Park.
- Inaugurated the town’s own “Nahinch Notes” live music project, with six concerts taking place in the Market House and also the main stage of the Christmas Lights Switch On event. showcasing local talent such as Charlie Hanlon and Tartan Riot.
Collective Chair Gareth Gordon commented that the past year had been one of challenges for the group.

He said: “From Storm Darragh and Eowyn forcing us to reschedule two events at very short notice, to the departure of some long-standing colleagues from the Collective’s committee, the past twelve months have been a testing period for the group.
“But its been one which we feel we have come through with flying colours.
“We are excited to announce the AGM and we will have some surprises in store for the town, with the relaunch of a new-look Community Collective and new plans for the future.”
The AGM will include committee reports, financial updates, and elections for the year ahead. Light refreshments will be provided.
“The event offers an opportunity for long-standing supporters and new participants alike to reflect on a year of collective achievement, share ideas for shaping Ballynahinch’s future, and look forward to the next chapter of working together,” added Gordon.
