Attempted Robbery In Downpatrick At ATM

dn_screenDetectives in Downpatrick are investigating an attempted robbery at Market Street on Saturday 18 July.

At around 3.50pm, an elderly man was approached by a male as he took money from an ATM machine. The male attempted to snatch the money from the elderly man’s hand but was unsuccessful. The assailant who was described as being in his 30’s, of slim build and wearing a dark coloured hooded top, made off along Market Street on foot.

Detective Inspector Denise Graham has appealed for anyone who was in the area around the time of this incident and who has any information which may be of assistance to police to contact detectives at Downpatrick on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.]]>
