Ardglass GAC Notes for 22 November 2015

Another busy weekend just past for the club writes Michelle Taggart.

On Saturday we were at the Eurospar, Ardglass, selling tickets for our next big fundraising event – the TROLLEY DASH, which will take place on Friday 11th December – all proceeds in aid of NICFFC and Ardglass GAC. A huge thank you to everyone who called in on Saturday and bought their tickets to be in with a chance of winning the dash… look out for us again soon back in the Eurospar before the draw takes place and winner is announced on Monday 7th December – In the meantime, anyone who would like a ticket, contact a member of the committee – tickets are £5 each and the total funds will be split 50-50 between the two charities. Saturday evening saw our very own Senior player, Stephen Rooney, pick up the East Down GAA Junior Player of the Year award at the Annual Awards Night which was held in the Burrendale Hotel, Newcastle. On behalf of the entire club and wider community of Ardglass, we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Stephen on his achievement! It has come as a great delight to all of us here at the club…. All your hard work, commitment and practice has paid off. Stephen has also been shortlisted for this year’s Club Down Allstars. The scheme, now in its second year, will honour the leading players from the senior, intermediate and junior championships and leagues. A panel will now select the final fifteen, which will be revealed at the Gala Dinner at the Canal Court Hotel in Newry on Friday 4th December 2015 – Best of luck Stephen from us all! To wrap up the weekend, the 2015 AGM took place on Sunday 22nd November – A range of topics were discussed.
