Fiona Petersxa0runs a support group to help others affected by severe allergies, or anaphylaxis.xa0The next meeting will take placexa0onxa0Monday 2 October 2017xa0atxa0Banbridge Leisure Centre, 15 Downshire Place, Banbridge, Co Down, BT32 3JYxa0betweenxa07pm and 9pm.
The UK is one of the top three countries in the world for the highest incident of allergyxa0andxa0aboutxa07 million peoplexa0have allergies severe enough to require specialist allergy care.xa0Fiona’sxa0support group is run in conjunction with the Anaphylaxis Campaign, the only UK-wide charity focused on supporting those at risk of severe allergies.
Anaphylaxis Campaign CEO, Lynne Regent said:xa0“It’s brilliant thatxa0Fionaxa0runs a support group for us inxa0Co Down. Many people in the general population do not understand just how serious allergy and anaphylaxis can be. Our support groups, like the onexa0Fionaxa0is running, provide a vital touch point for affected families and individuals and are a really positive way for them to support each other.”

The Anaphylaxis Campaign is the only UK-wide charity focused on supporting those at risk of severe allergies. The ultimate aim is to create a safe environment for all people with allergies by working with and educating the food industry, schools, pre-schools, colleges, health professionals and other key audiences.
