Kieran McCarthy MLA said: “I am angered by the decision to close Scrabo Tower without prior notice. Their timing could not be worse as their announcement was madexa0during the Easter holidays when a lot of children would have beenxa0looking forward to visiting the tower.

“If repairs had to be made, then surely the Northern Ireland Environment Agency could have waited until the winter months when the tower was closed to fix any damage.

“Safety must be paramount at all times and those in authority must ensure that there is no danger to the public, but let’s keep Scrabo Tower open.”
