dn_screenCouncillor Clarke had raised the flooding issue with Roads Service following local resident complaints who live near to the flooded footpath.

“Following ongoing complaints from local residents about a section of footpath along Main Street Dundrum from Brennan’s store which was continually prone to flooding during a period of heavy and persistent rainfall I contacted Roads Service to investigate,” he said. “Following a site survey Roads Service agreed to carry out drainage works and have now improved drainage through the provision of a new water gully along the footpath as well as new drainage piping and footpath channels and resurfacing. “Already the local residents have notice a dramatic difference with no excess water or flooding on this section of footpath.
