ALLIANCE Councillor Patrick Clarke has written to DRD Roads Service requesting that the 30mph anti-skid red warning roads surface along Main Street Dundrum is resurfaced.

He said that there had been deterioration of the existing roads surface and added that  he was concerned the warning roads surface presently in place is not being properly adhered to by motorists as they enter the 30mph speed limit zone at Dundrum beside the Dundrum GAC football pitch along the Main Street.dn_screen

Councillor Patrick Clarke: said: “THis part of the road has become badly worn in recent months due to continued traffic use.

“The existing roads surface needs to be resurfaced.  It is designed to primarily warn motorists that they are entering a 30mph speed limit zone and to slow down when entering Dundrum village. But is not really  effective at present.

“I have therefore made written to Roads Service  in the interests of  the road safety of motorists and pedestrians along the Main Street Dundrum.”
