Alliance Call For Speed Limit Review At Darragh X

Alliance Councillor David Lee-Surginor hs asked the DfI to review speed limits in Darragh X

Alliance Rowallane Councillor David Lee-Surginor has requested a review of speed limits in Darragh Cross from the Department for Infrastructure.

Alliance Councillor David Lee-Surginor is calling for the DfI to run a speed limit check in Darragh Cross following a number of contacts from local residents.

Cllr Lee-Surginor said: “I have written to DfI’s Road Service, expressing concerns over the current speed limit of 40mph and urging for a renewed speed and risk assessment in Darragh Cross village.

“The village is a small community with numerous young families and a primary school along the main road.

“Constituents have been raising concerns with me for some time about speeding through the village.”

The Rowallane councillor added: “Despite the installation of a Speed Indication Device (SID), incidents of excessive speeding persist.

“This poses a potential threat to the safety of residents.

“My request for a comprehensive assessment aims to ensure that the speed limit safeguards all residents of Darragh Cross.

“I will continue to liaise with DfI to work towards this.”
