Downpatrick FC clubnotes for week ending 25th October 2021

The Downpatrick FC Under 13s and 14s got a great day for their sponsored litter pick at Ballyhornan Beach writes Tony McShane.

The activity was organised to raise money for the boys’ kit bags but also provided a huge opportunity for thexa0Clubxa0to highlight the effects that pollution and plastics have on our beaches and marine life.

xa0It was also another opportunity for us to bring the lads together following a long period of lockdowns during the pandemic.

As axa0Clubxa0we know the importance of Mental health and the benefits that such activities like today bring to our players and their families. Thanks to everyone who sponsored the boys.

The Downpatrick FC juniors enjoy a session beach cleaning at Ballyhornan beach.

Thexa0clubxa0are looking for enthusiastic coaches who are interested in helping out at thexa0clubxa0to help coach the U6s (2016’s) on a Monday night which will be starting in a couple of weeks, so if you are interested please contact Paul Moore on 07549 661772 or Tony McShane 07716 8539903).

Downpatrickxa0played Orangefield OB at home on Saturday but unfortunately suffered a defeat. This Saturday they travel to play Grove United in the league. This match kicks offxa0at 2.00pm.)

The Under 16’s play Carryduff Colts at Loughmoss on Saturday morning. This match kicks offxa0at 11.00am.)

The Under 14’s play Larne Youth on Saturday morning at 11.00am at the Hydebank Pitches.

Downpatrickxa0U13’s play St Olive Plunkets at Loughmoss on Saturday. This match kicks off atxa011.00am.

The under 12’s, 11’s, 10’s & 8’s all have a free week due to the mid-term break.

Training for all teams continues to be in the Red High 3G pitch, details will be sent out from managers this week.
