EA Calls For Feedback On Special Needs Information

Education Authority seeks public feedback on special education needs information provided

The Education Authority (EA) is seeking your views on the information provided on Special Educational Needs (SEN) services to ensure all communications are current, clear, transparent and easily accessible.xa0

As part of this process the EA has launched an online questionnaire to provide the public and interested stakeholders with an opportunity to have their say on how they would prefer to access information on SEN services.

The feedback will help us review the information we provide to parents/carers, teachers, children and young people, and other interested stakeholders on its SEN services in the future.

This will then ultimately shape the development and publication of the EA Plan of its arrangements for Special Educational Provision in Northern Ireland next year.

Una Turbitt, Interim Director of Children and Young Peopleโ€™s Services from the Education Authority said: โ€œThe aim of this review is to make it easier, clearer and more straightforward for parents and carers, children and young people, teachers and other stakeholders to access information about the educational services and support available, helping every child to be equipped and empowered to reach their full potential.

โ€œI would urge anyone who has an interest in SEN (Special Education Needs), or has sought to access information from the Education Authority on any of our SEN services in recent years, to take part in this survey and let us know your experiences and your thoughts on how we can improve the quality of the information provided in the future.

โ€œWe want to make it as easy as possible for anyone to access the information about the services and support EA provides. The feedback from the public will be invaluable in shaping future decisions.โ€

Those wishing provide feedback should visit:

to complete the Survey before Wednesday 10thxa0November.xa0

In addition, a further virtual discovery workshop for parents/carers is being held on Wednesday 3rd November at 7.30pm which is another opportunity to provide views on how we can enhance the information we provide on SEN services.
