Downpatrick SERC Students Excel With Exam Results

Result Day Success for SERC Downpatrick Campus Students.

South Eastern Regional College is celebrating the success of hundreds of students who have received outstanding BTEC qualifications following one of the most challenging years.

Many students had extra reason to celebrate by achieving triple distinction stars (D*D*D*) which is the equivalent to 3 A* grades at A-Level.xa0xa0

Students at the Downpatrick SERC campus are celebrating with their exam successes.

Student success included: (l–r):

Sentana Gorman-Crane (18) achieved Triple Star Distinction in the Level 3 Extended Diploma in IT and is taking up a place on the Foundation Degree at SERC.

Jasmine Hanna (19) from Strangford, achieved Double Star Distinction in the Level 3 Health and Social Care and is deciding on offers of a degree in Physiotherapy at Ulster University or Health Sciences at Manchester following a gap year;

Benjamin Curran (19) completed the Level 3 in Engineering and achieved Double Star Distinction and will be taking up a degree at Dundee University to study Mechanical Engineering;

Georgia Lynn Kirkwood (19), from Ballynahinch completed the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment and achieved Triple Star Distinction and is heading to Ulster University to do a BSc in Quantity Surveying;

Alexis Rooney (20) achieved Double Star Distinction in the Level 3 in Health and Social Care and has accepted a place at Queen’s University to study Social Work which she has deferred until 2022;

Philip Gargan (20) form Newcastle, achieved Triple Star Distinction in Animal Management will be heading to Bangor University in Wales to do a BSc in Zoology.
