This autumn’s Taste Ards and North Down foodie experiences are now in full swing with diners from across the borough enjoying delicious meals during a month-long focus on local food and drink!

Tickets have been selling fast for the delectable dishes with some selling out in near-record time. However, a handful of tickets are still available for two of the special foodie experiences…

Foodie Experiences

Donaghadee’s Harbour and Company hosts a special food and drink showcase on Thursday 15 October at 7pm. The popular restaurant is a key destination in the local foodie’s map and Chef Paddy Rowan has devised a menu that defines the character and flavours of the area.

Copeland Distillery, Flavour First, James Harris Fish Suppliers and Peninsula Kelp are all among the featured producers, and diners will have the opportunity to hear the stories behind the produce while enjoying the scenic view of Donaghadee’s historic harbour. Tickets are priced at £39.50 per person.

Comber’s No. 14 at The Georgian House also has some availability for its special showcase on Thursday 22 October at 7pm. Chef Jim Mulholland is a local expert at foraging and he has created a delicious three-course dinner that celebrates the food and drink of County Down.

Echlinville Distillery, Peninsula Kelp and pork from Stonebridge Cottage Farm will combine for a meal that tickles those taste buds. Diners will be treated to stories behind the produce and Chef Mulholland will reveal how seasonality is key to his choices in the kitchen. Tickets are priced at £50 per person.

Markets and More!

If that isn’t enough, don’t forget about this Saturday’s (10 October) Market Fresh in Bangor – a free-to-attend market at Project 24 that runs from 12 noon until 4pm. Newtownards also hosts a special Harvest Market in Conway Square on Saturday 17 October from 8am until 5pm.

And if you get in quick, you might be able to snap up a ticket for this Saturday’s ‘Surf and Turf’ taste sensation at the Saltwater Brig, near Kircubbin. Guests will enjoy a showcase meal with quality Angus beef from Greyabbey alongside superb Strangford Lough langoustines and a special whiskey cocktail from Echlinville. Tickets are priced from £26 per person.

Don’t forget…

Pre-booking for all foodie experiences and showcases is essential. All are strictly over 18s only, with the exception of Surf and Turf at the Brig (16+). Full terms and conditions (and menus!) can be found online at:
