Harte Condemns Attack On Car In Newry

Vehicle Trashed And  Items Stolen From It By Heartless Thieves Say Sinn Fรฉin.

Newry City Councillor Valerie Harte has said that those involved in the vandalising of a car and subsequent theft of items from it were “heartless”.

The Sinn Fรฉin elected representative made her comments after speaking to family members of the victim, and said: โ€œI have just  spoken with the mother of a young man from  Oโ€™Neill Avenue here in Newry who has been left traumatised after discovering that his car had been broken into last night and trashed and items stolen from itโ€œ.

โ€œThis young man had only started a new job yesterday and to go out to find that this had happened this morning is deplorable.

Once again a community has been violated by heartless thieves, we donโ€™t need these acts of wanton vandalism in our communitiesโ€.

Cllr Harte added: โ€œThe Ballinacraig Community Associationxa0have spoken with the PSNI and have been xa0assured that patrols will be stepped up in the area. I would also appeal for all residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activityโ€.

Cllr Valerie Harte.
