Tree Of Hope For Covid-19 Patients Leaving Downe Hospital

Caring staff at the Downe Hospital in Downpatrick have created a ‘Tree of Hope’ to celebrate patients who have recovered from Coronavirus.

The tree is decorated with colourful, hand-crafted butterflies that have been beautifully decorated by the children of South Eastern HSC Trust staff.

Each butterfly is individual in design, marking the discharge of a recovered patient and acknowledging the care each person has received from our dedicated staff, which has helped them to spread their wings again.

William Stitt from Newtownards, is pictured beside the ‘Tree of Hope’ in the Downe Hospital, just before his discharge back home after recovering from COVID-19.
