Rufus Tells Children Wash Your Hands

Rufus the Friendly Monster visits Carryduff Playgroup to teach kids the importance of washing their hands.

Local children from Carryduff Playgroup received a special visit from safefood’s Rufus the Friendly Monster as part of a new initiative to help teach pre-school children good handwashing habits.

safefood has teamed up Early Years – The Organisation for Young Children to distribute Rufus the Friendly Monster resource packs to over 600 Early Years playgroups across Northern Ireland.

Messy Monster Rufus says to children at Carryduf Playschool, wash your hands!

E.coli can make children very sick and infections can happen when children don’t wash their hands properly especially after using the toilet, playing outside or before eating.

The resource pack aims to help make learning about handwashing fun and interactive and includes ‘how-to’ posters, colouring-in sheets and song sheets that reinforces the 5 steps to handwashing (wet, soap, rub, rinse, dry).
