Downpatrick Lions Enjoy Their Charter Night

Downpatrick Lions Celebrate Charter Night.xa0

Once again, Downpatrick Lions have come together to celebrate their tremendous success in helping local charities in the local community and needy people farther afield. Some of their benefactors are mentioned publicly, but the toils of their dedicated fundraising often go unnoticed and the recipients also too sometimes receive donations of support that are not made public.

The Downpatrick Lions Club was founded 46 years ago and has been of great service to the Downpatrick and wider community.

Downpatrick Lions Club President Sean Carvill presented Deidre Curran (left) and Margaret Orr with the Melvin Jones Fellow Award for their dedication and outstanding service to the Lions Club talking newspaper Downsound.xa0 Deidre and Margaret said they had made many friends during forty-plus years of service and worked with an amazing team to produce the newspaper.
