Cleary Welcomes Darragh Cross Bus Link Progress

Sinn Féin’s Marianne Cleary has confirmed that Translink are currently exploring the most effective way to launch a new, regular service to connect Darragh Cross and Saintfield.

The confirmation follows discussions between the Rowallane Sinn Féin spokesperson and Translink officials as to how a permanent route can be scheduled as soon as possible.

Ms Cleary said:  “I want to thank Translink for their constructive cooperation on this important issue – local residents in Darragh Cross have been eager to see such a service to Saintfield established for some time now as it helps connect the rural village to the main commuter routes from Downpatrick to Belfast.

“The Translink Schedule Team have formulated a timetable and this is currently being route tested. Allowing time for any amendments that might need to be made, it is anticipated that the route will be fully operational by Easter.

“This will be a great advantage to those residents in Darragh who want to avail of a regular service to Saintfield, and beyond.”
