Over one hundred people were in attendance including representatives from the local business community, Royal British Legion and more.

A presentation was made by the Cancer Fund for Children, on Daisy Lodge – a purpose-built therapeutic centre, in Newcastle Co. Down for families affected by cancer.

The Party Leader was treated to some local โ€˜Mourne-Factorโ€™ talent provided by singers, Rayanne Sloss and Alex Annett from Kilkeel High School.

Diane Forsythe, Secretary of South Down DUP Association, said:xa0โ€œIt was great to welcome Arlene to Annalong for her to see the enthusiasm and strength of support there is here for her and the party in South Down.

โ€œElection after election we have seen people put their faith in the party at the ballot box. Between the 2015 and 2017 General Elections, the party increased its vote share by 8.1% in the constituency.

โ€œA great evening was had by all, with there being many highlights from having Arlene present, to the showcasing of local talent by two fabulous singers and a young artist from Kilkeel High School.

โ€œWe were also pleased as an Association to thank Raymond Hanna, Secretary of South Down DUP Association for forty years, for his service and dedication to the party and wish him well in retirement.

โ€œOn behalf of the Association I am grateful to all those who supported the dinner and we look forward to building and growing on success, united behind Arlene Foster.โ€
