Forage Ireland’s Dermot Hughes will lead us to find out how to harvest wild food sustainably, what’s good to eat and what isn’t, and learn more about the wildlife of our rugged, but accessible, shores.

Join Ulster Wildlife for a coastal foraging walk onxa0Friday 31 Augustxa0at Dundrum Bay.

Dave Wall, Living Seas Officer with Ulster Wildlife, said: “Many people in Northern Ireland have tried foods that can be foraged along our coasts, such as mussels and dulse, but there are plenty more delicious plants, seaweeds and animals to be found. A lot of foods can easily be foraged sustainably, providing tasty, healthy meals without harming our coastal ecosystems.

“The foraging workshop will involve a guided walk along the shoreline to collect wild food and learn more about the local wildlife. Participants will then cook some of the food, followed by a tasting session. Edible finds will likely include leafy greens such as sea beet, a variety of seaweeds, and some shellfish.

“The event will run fromxa010.30am to 1.30pmxa0and costs £10 per person.

“Book and pay online at:
