Following the stabbing in Saintfield early on Sunday morning, a man giving a Newcastle address, Matthew Kane (46),xa0 has been charged with four counts of attempted murder and has been refused bail.
Following the attack, four people were taken to hospital with injuries.
Detectives in Newry are now appealing for information following thexa0 incident in the Queens Park area of Saintfield in the hours of this morning (Sunday, 11 March).
Inspector Henry said: “It was reported that at approximatelyxa03.40amxa0a man attacked several people at a property with a knife causing injuries to three men and one woman.
“All the victims then taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries where the woman remains in a serious but stable condition.xa0 It is believed the man who carried out in the attack made off in a blue Volvo c70 registration K9 NES.xa0 Police have subsequently arrested a 46-year old male in relation to this.
“He remains in custody at this time having turned himself in to Lurgan police station, but police would be interested if anyone who has seen the vehicle mentioned to contact them immediately onxa0101 quoting reference 267xa011/03/2018.xa0

Matthew Kane was in the dock at Newtownards Magistrates Court today (Tuesday 13 March) and was refused bail and will attend the Magistrates Court in Downpatrick on Thursday 5 April where his case will be further heard. He was also charged with possession of a weapon, criminal damage to property and theft.
