Retail NI Reminder On BofE Tenners Being Withdrawn

£10 banknote is due to expirexa0this Thursdayxa0(1^stxa0March) and they need to exchange them at their bank or Post Office after this date.

Retail NI Chief Executive Glyn Roberts said: “This Thursdayxa0sees another banknote being withdrawn from circulation. This has been a challenging few years for shoppers and retailers with the introduction of the new £1 coin and polymer banknotes.

“Retail NI would remind consumers and our members to ensure that they are aware of this important deadline.

“Beyond 1^stxa0March some retailers may still accept the old Bank of England £10 Bank of England banknote, but it will be at the individual retailer’s own discretion.

“We would urge consumers to exchange these old banknotes with their bank or Post Office beforexa0Thursdayxa0to avoid any potential difficulties.

So, if you have a big trunk of old £10 notes under your bed, get them to the bank in time before they could become worthless tender.
