Local Views Sought On PIP Assessment Process

Local people who have been through an assessment for the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) are being asked to share their experience of the process.

An independent review of the assessment process is being carried out by Walter Rader. He is seeking feedback from any individuals in the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council area who have been assessed for PIP and have feedback and views.

Mr Rader explained: “This review provides an opportunity for individuals and organisations to set out their experiences of the PIP assessment process.xa0 I look forward to receiving evidence which will inform this important review and I want to encourage as many as possible to contribute their comments, insights and experiences of the assessment process.”

More information and details of how to respond are available at:

The deadline for responses is Friday 16 March.

The feedback from participants will be used to help inform Mr Rader’s conclusions and recommendations.

This is an opportunity for people who have directly experienced the Personal Independent Review and are dissatisified to make a contribution and get this assessment process corrected for the public good.
