Alliance Strangford MLA Kellie Armstrong has appealed for information following an attempted murder in Newtownards.
A delivery driver was in his red Ford Fiesta in Fairfield Place aroundxa010.45pmxa0last night (Tuesday) when two men approached, doused it with flammable liquid and set it alight. The man, in his 40’s, was able to escape uninjured.
“I am shocked by this incident and know everyone in the local community will be as well,” said Ms Armstrong”
“I am thankful the man was able to escape unharmed. There is absolutely no justification for these actions and as the pair may attempt this again, it is crucial they are apprehended as soon as possible.
“I urge anyone with information on this incident to contact police immediately and help remove these sick individuals from our streets.”
