Keeping It In The Family At Asda Downpatrick

Father’s Day is the perfect time to celebrate all the great dads out there, but for Asda colleagues across Northern Ireland, including father and daughter teams Thomas and April Leckey, and Ciara and Duncan Currie, who work alongside each other in the Downpatrick store, they have a reason to celebrate Father’s Day every day.

April and Ciara aren’t the only Asda colleagues in Northern Ireland who have the privilege of going to work every day with their dads, the Larne, Antrim, Westwood and Coleraine stores also have fathers who work with their children – it’s a real family affair!xa0 The four colleagues in Downpatrick work across George, Bakery, Beers, Wines and Spirits and Home Shopping.

Thomas Leckey, who has worked with Asda for five years, and is the Home Shopping Leader explained:xa0“Father’s Day is a big occasion for us!xa0 I love my job, and I’ve tried to instil in April that same desire of wanting to better yourself, and finding a passion for work – it’s fantastic to have a purpose every day, and a sense of fulfilment.

“And it’s even better to share that with my daughter.xa0 April has achieved so much in her time with Asda, working across various departments – and even leading the Deli section, when the new pizza counter came in the store.xa0 I’m so proud of her, and I know Duncan feels the same about working with Ciara.”

“Although we work in different departments, we always make time for each throughout the day.xa0 Father’s Day is a really special occasion for us, and we can’t wait to celebrate it together!”
