Ballynahinch Man Convicted Of Benefit Fraud

A man was convicted at Downpatrick Magistrates’ Court for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

Francis Hempton (56) of Langley Road, Ballynahinch claimed Jobseeker’s Allowance and Housing Benefit totalling £4,254 while failing to declare a pension. He was fined £400 and ordered to pay an offenderxa0levy of £15.

He is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Department for Communities.
